I'm not a nurse but many women in my family are & I must say that I long fir the day when nurses looked like nurses & not patients. My aunt who graduated from nursing school over 30 yrs ago often tells of the head nurse at the first hospital she worked who would admonish any nurse who's uniform wasn't gleaming white & razor crisp. She also called their caps their "dignity" reminding them to "mind their dignity". I can't help to feel that the profession might be better off if the uniform of old returned.
